Peace and justice exhibit set up in Havana

Lynn and Ginny Coultas have set up a table in the Havana Public Library featuring issues related to peace and justice. The centerpiece of the exhibit is a bust of Martin Luther King, Jr. with a plaque quoting him from his last speech at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.:   "We must all learn to live together as brothers or perish as fools."

The first exhibit features Black History, focusing on individuals who have worked for peace and justice. On the table are books from the library, which can be checked out, about Martin Luther King, Jr., Muhammad Ali, Rosa Parks, Mary Bethune, Maya Angelou and others. Beside each book are quotes from the books relating to peace and justice.

Next month the exhibit will deal with personal peace making and the last month with international and national peacemaking. The Coultases will continue to select books from the library on these subjects and also want to have handouts. They would appreciate help in locating appropriate handout material. They can be contacted at Clcvlc1@aol.com or by phone at 539-9044.

In the following months the exhibit will be set up at the Quincy and   Chattahochee branches of the Gadsden County Library.
